seeks to hire a dynamic part-time science teacher for grades 9-12
capable of teaching all levels of biology, chemistry and
biology-based electives beginning in the 2026-27 school year. This
is a 0.75, benefits-eligible position. Applicant review will begin
Dec. 15. Essential Responsibilities Teach three sections of a
combination of biology, chemistry and biology advanced science
electives at various levels in the Upper School (grades 9-12)
Advise a group of 10-12 students Hold conferences with students and
parents in fall and spring and write narrative comments for each
student at the end of each semester Participate in departmental,
divisional and all-school initiatives and meetings Salary Range
This position has a starting salary of $42,000-$63,750. This salary
range includes the expected annual salary for this position. In
making a salary determination, we consider professional experience,
applicable qualifications and other job-related factors. Based on
these factors, a candidate's salary offer could exceed this range.
The Blake School is a pre-kindergarten through grade 12,
co-educational, nonsectarian, independent day school enrolling
1,277 bright, talented students from nearly 56 Twin Cities-area

Requirements: Undergraduate degree in science, science education or
a related field with a strong preference for candidates who hold—or
are actively pursuing—an advanced degree in a relevant discipline
Substantial professional experience in science education with
preference given to candidates who have taught at the upper school
(grades 9–12) level Experience teaching STEM subjects with a solid
foundation in climate literacy along with familiarity with modeling
instruction and other inquiry-based pedagogies
