We're seeking a maintenance technician who has a passion for
machines and how they work. Delicately balancing your time between
day-to-day needs and long-term preventative maintenance activities,
you are a fundamental member of the manufacturing organization,
collaborating with production, quality and food safety teams.
You come to us with broad experience and knowledge in many facets
of industrial maintenance, including mechanical, electrical,
pneumatic, and hydraulic machines. You enjoy making sure that other
people know how to work and maintain equipment. Whether it's
troubleshooting issues with production machines, maintaining our
manufacturing lines, or sharing what you know with others, you will
be a "go-to" team member for maintenance.
SUCCESS FACTORS (12- 18 months):
Subject Matter Expert: You come to Silver Spring with ready to put
your industrial maintenance skills and experience to work to ensure
that our wide-ranging equipment is up to snuff and ready to go. You
navigate a variety of mechanical challenges, identify the root
causes of issues, and provide the right solutions. You have a wide
breadth of technical knowledge that you continue to add to, and
you're not afraid to ask for help.
Production Line Support Machinery acting up doesn't faze you. You
diagnose issues quickly and correctly, fix the problem and work to
ensure that Silver Spring has the parts and materials we need to
make sure our equipment doesn't go down. You have a finger on the
changing production needs and effectively prioritize and completed
work orders and perform preventative maintenance for Manufacturing,
Quality Assurance, and other projects.
Autonomous Maintenance: You know to operate each piece of our
production equipment and when help is needed, you jump right in!
You know how to interpret equipment manuals and work to make sure
our training materials are revised, or new ones are created with
your assistance. You work with the production team to make sure
they know how to operate the machinery properly and perform light
maintenance to ensure that all equipment is running at top
performance.
Safety: As a role model for safety, you actively prevent issues and
have the courage to share concerns with others-even when it's not
the popular thing to do. You also maintain safe workplace practices
in chemical safety, confined space, hot work, electrical and more.
When new safety concerns come up, you propose solutions to reduce
safety risks. Potential hazards are clearly identified and
communicated to maintenance, manufacturing, quality assurance, and
sanitation teams.
. Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES
- 1 to 3 years maintenance-related experience
- Knowledge of proper sanitation techniques and mechanical
set-up
- Good mechanical aptitude
- Ability to perform heavy physical work, exercising up to 100
pounds of strength occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or
otherwise move objects.
- Thorough understanding of measurements.
Working Conditions
Normal manufacturing environment. Potential exposure to equipment
movement, chemical/solvent/ingredient hazards if proper safety
procedures are not followed. Not an air-conditioned work
environment.
