Professional Engineer Summary

An industry leader in FTTP deployment within the Midwest is seeking a Registered Professional Engineer to join the team! This individual will be responsible for providing assistance to engineering projects.


--- Assisting in client contacts and communications and attending project meetings

--- Attending conferences, public speaking engagements, marketing events, and potential client visits to assist in business development

--- Preparation of OSP designs for FTTP projects

--- Development of construction project cost estimates

--- Preparation of design computations and quantity estimates

--- Preparation of and contribution to reporting, funding applications, specifications, plans, construction schedules, environmental reports, permits, project designs

--- Preparation of plans/specifications for a wide range of technologies and equipment

--- Revising plan documents and coordinates in conjunction with draftsperson and technicians to modify designs

--- Conducting periodic site visits, monitoring progress and other duties per project's specific contract documents/plans

--- Utilization of computer assisted engineering and design software to prepare design computations

--- Performing occasional drafting

--- Ensuring quality control and network documentation is completed as needed

--- Evaluating existing technologies and recommending to client's what technology will best suit their application/project needs

--- Coordinating with service providers and clients to troubleshoot network issues

--- Assisting with the configuration of access, networking, and management equipment (both Windows and Linux servers)

--- Conducting DC power plant and grounding designs as well as audits

--- Other duties as assigned/required


--- Registered P.E., or the ability to become licensed within 6 months

--- Active P.E. certification in ND, MN, IA, WI

--- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred. Civil, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field also acceptable.

--- Minimum of 4 years of related work experience

--- Experience in OSP Design and/or RUS HIGHLY preferred

--- Experience/knowledge of utility construction is preferred

--- Proficient computer skills - Office tools, Visio, AutoCAD - HIGHLY preferred

--- Valid driver's license with clean driving record. MUST be insurable

--- Ability to travel 30% within ND, MN, IA, WI - overnight and/or extended travel a possibility
