Job Description:
Research and Development ManagerThe main accountabilities and
responsibilities of the Research and Development Manager will
include:Supervise company New Product Development (NPD)
activitiesDevelop new products according to a global eligibility
and priority program as a key member of the Global Innovations Team
and in close relationship with the while Innovation groupScale up
from lab to pilot plant scaleMaintain a network of strategic raw
material suppliersPerform research needed to ensure continuous
improvement in quality, maximizing capacity, and minimizing costs
of existing productsLead or be a participant in global innovation
projectsSubject matter expert for any technical question related to
current and alternative drying processesRun shelf-life tests and
storage testsSupport food application and quality control with
sensory testsHave a good understanding of costing, legal, and
quality constraintsBe the direct technical contact to key customers
and toll manufacturersCo-develop and monitor annual US NPD budget
with the GIDOversee continuous improvement of R&D capabilities
in the US including lead for significant upgrade projectsAssist and
be accountable for the industrial launch of every new productAssist
sales and technical sales of technical questionsIdentify new
promising trendsBe accountable for work and product safety in
R&D pilot plant / labActively participate in the company SAFE
ProgramResponsible to report food safety problems to personnel with
authority to initiate actionManage the US Innovation Team (at least
1 technician + interns)Provide appropriate development plans and
training including annual performance reviewsTechnical
Qualifications:Food Processing Engineer, BS in Food Science,
Biochemistry, Bioengineering or related field with at least 3-5
years industrial experienceKnowledge of spray drying
processesProven experience in lab / pilot plant construction
projectsComprehensive verbal and written skills requiredCreativity,
with out-of-the-box way of thinkingMechanical aptitudeStrong
analytical, organizational, and prioritization skills
requiredExperiences in regulatory complianceExperience in team
managementAbility to train and coach internsDomestic and
international travel on occasionKnowledge of blending, roller
drying, agglomeration, packaging, and ultra-filtration highly
