Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire, Wisconsin is seeking a
Board Certified/Board Eligible Infectious Disease physician to join
a collegial department.
is 100% Infectious disease.
The physician will provide patient care in the clinic and hospital
settings and also provide physician support for Infection Control
and Prevention and Antimicrobial Stewardship programs.
MCHS in Eau Claire is a fully integrated care system where hospital
and clinic are located in the same building and is run
by a single governing structure thus helping to facilitate care
coordination and patient follow-up.
In this role, the
physician will be able to:
Participate in a community practice with an academic segment
working with family practice residents and occasional medical
students as well as minor research activities
Work with all medical specialties in a setting where you see a wide
variety of illnesses and disease states
Provide physician leadership to support Infection Prevention and
Control initiatives both in MCHS-Eau Claire and, if interested,
assist in collaboration across the Mayo Clinic enterprise
Provide physician support to

collaboration across the Mayo Clinic enterprise
Consultations/Follow ups, no admissions. There is a large variety
of infections: endocarditis, orthopedic infections, HIV/AIDS,
pneumonias, zoonotic diseases, complicated soft tissue infections,
endemic mycoses, tick-borne diseases. Minority of
Post-hospital follow ups, travel clinic, referrals from other
physicians and e-consults to connected Critical Care Access
hospitals. There is an IV antibiotic infusion center at the clinic,
and two skilled RNs supporting the practice.
One Physician Assistant see patients in the ID clinic three times
per week and also supports the Travel Clinic practice.
IPAC and Antimicrobial Stewardship:
Infection control with a group of 4
registered nurses trained in infection control. Antimicrobial
stewardship program with dedicated Pharmacist.
No antimicrobial approval calls.
