Lutheran Social Services of Wisconsin and Upper Michigan (LSS) is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team. In this role, you will provide vital support and counseling to individuals and families affected by addiction. You will work closely with clients in community-based settings to foster their recovery and empower them to lead healthier lives. Conduct assessments and evaluate client needs related to substance use disorders. Develop tailored treatment plans that align with client goals and evidence-based practices. Provide individual and group counseling sessions to promote recovery and resilience. Coordinate care with other health professionals to ensure comprehensive support. Facilitate family counseling sessions and educational workshops. Maintain accurate and confidential client records. Participate in ongoing professional development and training. Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to develop and maintain therapeutic relationships Knowledge of different therapy models, particularly in addiction treatment Crisis intervention skills Cultural sensitivity and an ability to work with diverse populations Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) or similar certification Eligible for state licensure as a Professional Counselor
