Practice Overview You'll join a supportive network of board-certified physicians across primary care and surgical specialties Solo coverage model with one physician on shift at a time-autonomy is key Optional Medical Director role available with additional compensated hours Practice at a respected community hospital with access to multiple outpatient clinics and pharmacies Schedule 144 service hours per month with a mix of 12- and 24-hour shifts Shift options include 8AM-8PM, 8 PM-8AM, or 24-hour 8AM-8AM coverage No overlapping coverage; ideal for physicians comfortable working independently Predictable schedule supports work-life balance in a rural setting Compensation & Benefits Base salary between $450K-$500K , with Medical Director stipend available 20 days (240 hours) of PTO plus 10 days (120 hours) of CME annually Coverage of licensing, DEA, board certification, and professional dues Access to full insurance benefits and employer-sponsored retirement plans Candidate Requirements Board certification in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine Experience in rural healthcare settings is strongly preferred Not suited for new graduates due to independent coverage model Must be comfortable managing a full range of emergency presentations solo Community & Location Highlights Viroqua offers small-town living with access to outdoor recreation, scenic bluffs, and local food culture Affordable cost of living and quality public schools make it ideal for families Enjoy a peaceful pace with proximity to the Kickapoo Valley Reserve and the Driftless Region Regional airports within driving distance provide travel flexibility Let's explore together how this opportunity could shape the next chapter of your career and life.
