The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) works under the direction and supervision of the Nurse or therapist. Performs services for the client as necessary to maintain the personal comfort and safety of the client. The CNA reports directly to a Staffing Managers. SCHEDULE Casual / PRN (as needed) Cover Shifts for Vacations, time off, call-outs Typically daytime hours Monday – Friday between 8 am – 5 pm or occasional weekends 1:1 Client care This position is in Scott County Up to $25h/hr COVERAGE AREA Scott County, MN BENEFITS Daytime Shift Mileage reimbursement (when applicable) Holiday Pay (for Holidays worked – if desired, not required) Paid time off Continuing Education Options Bonuses MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES Assists with personal cares such as bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, toileting, routine ambulation, positioning. Assists with physician-ordered medications which are ordinarily administered under the direction and supervision of the Nurse. Home exercise program Community Outings (church, zoo, stores, bowling) Reports changes in the client's condition and needs to the Nurse. Performs household services essential to health care at home, including, but not limited to: Meal preparation/feeding Completes the appropriate records to document care given and pertinent observations. Communicates effectively with all members of the team. Maintains a safe client environment. Maintains client confidentiality; treats clients and families with respect. Understands, accepts and responds to the emotional needs of client. Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by Nurse. PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS No Heavy physical demands involves, bending, stooping and stretching. Must be adaptable to a variety of environments and settings in the community. Must assess physical and emotional needs and be able to respond appropriately. Must have reliable transportation. QUALIFICATIONS Currently or have previously been on the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Registry or successfully completed a formal certification training program and passed a written test and competency evaluation. Direct Support Professional does not require CAN certification. The certificate must not have been revoked, suspended, and without limitations or restrictions. Be at least eighteen (18) years of age. Have demonstrated sympathetic attitude toward care of others who are vulnerable. Possess the ability to read, write and carry out directions. Possess the maturity to deal effectively with the demands of the job. Have demonstrated the ability to work with little supervision and make appropriate judgements. Have demonstrated dependability, tact and ability to follow orders. A valid driver's license and proof of car insurance when using a personal vehicle for company business. Pass initial and ongoing background studies and screenings. Caregiving: 2 year (Preferred) CPR Certification (Preferred) The pay range for this position is $23 - $25 per hour. A candidate's pay is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications, job level, and location.
