Job Description:

**POSITION SUMMARY:** Manages product and process industrialization at the factory level, including assisting with product and process development from Industrial Trial to FOC (First of Codes). Provides technical/technological manufacturing support as well as Project Management at the factory level involving all aspects of the formulation, batching, and processing of Infant Formula products. Responsible for establishing and managing factory manufacturing dossiers (MD), and assisting in developing raw material specifications, formulations, process requirements, and supporting regulatory and Nestle Quality compliance requirements. Functions as a liaison between the plant, commercial IF functions (Marketing, Regulatory, MSRU, TCU Nestec and external resources from various markets we serve concerning technical/technological manufacturing issues. Assists in driving continuous improvement projects through routine review of existing formulations and processes for cost saving, yield, and efficiency improvements at factory level. **PRIMARY RESPONSIBLITIES** **Project Management for Product/Process Development:** + Manages projects including: + Manages Technical projects as part of Technical Services group and support business initiatives (I2L or other) projects and documentation as required for specific market. + Assists new formulations development to satisfy objectives of project sponsor + Works with R&D/TCU and CTAG Organization as needed, during the industrialization phase of the projects to ensure product/process can be manufactured using existing process lines or identify required modifications/capital expenditures prior to industrialization + Conducts manufacturing Industrial Trials, FOC and SOCs for new/renovated products or new processes and provides all supporting documentation for trials (Production Trial Instructions, Trial protocols, Trial Final reports.) + Sets up and monitors stability/keeping quality studies. Participation in Infant Formula Sensory Panel. + Obtains and sends trial and/or FOC samples to representative markets for Marketplace Acceptance as part of approval/release process. + Input Industrial Trial and FOC/SOC results into CAT (Compliance Acceptance Tool) for TCU approval/release to meet project timelines. + Ensures developments meet or exceed all Nestle or external regulatory requirements + Assists with the preparation and review of documentation including but not limited to: + Manufacturing Dossier + Standard Operating Procedures + Block Diagrams + MES Recipe Parameters/Input + BOM (Bill of Material) Set Up and Verify + Provides documentation for First of Code and Second of Code industrialization production to R&D/ TCU + Optimizes existing products/processes to satisfy objectives of project sponsor + Drives continuous process/cost improvement. Assists Factory Operations and Quality as needed for routine product optimization. Technical Assistance + Assists Operations to investigate/resolve quality issues and/or product losses + Support Factory Training initiatives **Other Duties As Assigned** **REQUIREMENTS AND DESIRED EDUCATION LEVEL:** BS Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline is preferred. **EXPERIENCE:** Minimum 2 years experience in Food Processing (Liquid/Powder) product manufacturing and/or spray drying operations. Working understanding of aseptic processing and retort processing is also desirable. **SKILLS:** + Knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Project, SAP + Understand interfacing with processfloor computer control systems/HMIs (Human Machine Interface) + Knowledge of applicable Food Laws (CFR Title 21, GMPs). + Strong project management skills. + Excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills. + Ability to work well with others Operators, Supervisors, Managers, R&D, Corporate, Nestec, outside resources and vendors. + A go-getter takes problems head on, makes effective use of everyones time, and strives to achieve timely solutions. + A self-starter requiring minimal direct supervision. + Team player. + Skilled in principles of beverage/food processing and stability. + Skilled in Engineering principles and terminology. + Knowledgeable in the principles of experimental design and statistics + Ability to act as a trainer, as needed.
