  • PediatricsOur staff of more than 100 Registered Nurses and Patient Care Associates is split into three distinct units with opportunities to cross train, adding more variety to your career. In addition to the 14 beds in Neuro/Peds/Trauma, our department cares for patients in a 20-bed observation unit, as well as a 6-bed Intermediate Care Unit.

    Position description
    The Patient Care Assistant assists staff with delegated tasks of direct and indirect patient care which supports and complements nursing practice under the supervision of a registered nurse. The Patient Care Assistant carries out delegated skills that are within those functions limited by law to unlicensed nursing personnel.

    Qualifications
    18 years old and completion of 12 college credits or High school Diploma/GED with successful completion of a Nursing Assistant training or equivalent.

    Additional qualifications
    Certified Nursing Assistant on State of Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry in "non-expired" status preferred. Patient care skills, knowledge of infection control and safety procedures, medical terminology, strong verbal and written communication skills. Requires independent judgment, a high level of motivation, accountability, flexibility, interest in patient care, and compassion for people.

    License or certification
    Maintains current Basic Life Support for Health Care Provides from one of the following programs; American Heart Association or American Red Cross. If a candidate does not currently have their Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from one of the following programs: American Heart Association or American Red Cross the Basic Life Support, certification will be included as part of the orientation program.

    Compensation Detail
    Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $15.54 per hour.

    12 hour rotating shifts.

    Weekend schedule
    Every third weekend, 2 holidays per year.
