We're seeking an experienced Batch Operator who is motivated and has a real enthusiasm for creating great tasting food. You enjoy the science of food, knowing that exact measurement of ingredients and the right blending process are critical to making a high-quality product. You're a self-starter who enjoys working independently with minimal direction, and take pride in your equipment, processes and end products. You also enjoy being on a positive, productive team that works together to make great products and do what you can to help your team members throughout the day. And you enjoy the physicality of the job, knowing you won't have to go to Cross Fit after work.

Current openings are on 2nd shift (Monday - Friday 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.) and 3rd shift (Sunday - Thursday 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.). These are straight shifts and do not rotate.

Success Factors

Exact Mixing & Blending: You measure ingredients exactly and closely follow the mixing and blending procedures detailed according to the product formulation specifications. You know your accuracy and timeliness is critical to making great tasting, high quality products. You double check for ingredient quality and report any discrepancies instead of using inferior ingredients.

Safety & Cleanliness: Your equipment is cleaned after every use and maintained properly and well. You perform basic maintenance and repairs on your equipment as necessary. Completes sanitation checks. Operates all equipment in safe and efficient manner, following company policies.

Documentation: exhibits good attention to detail and accurately and neatly completes all paperwork and documentation in a timely manner, since you know that the rest of the production team needs it to do their jobs.

Team player: Keeps positive open communication with supervisor and other team members to ensure free flow of information and close coordination of workflow

. Requirements:

Required:

High school diploma or GED equivalency and 1-3 years' experience in manufacturing setting

Preferred:

3-5 years in a batching role

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

- Thorough understanding of measurements.

- Ability to keep accurate records; attention to detail

- Good oral and written communication skills

- Able to prioritize effectively, setting own pace to ensure timely completion of duties with minimal supervision

- Maintains highest degree of confidentiality

- Good computer skills

Physical, Mental and Visual Skills

- Ability to copy figures, use scales, count and record accurately

- Ability to calculate involving fractions, decimals and percentages

- Ability to perform heavy physical work, exercising up to 100 lbs. of strength occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects

- Standing, walking, bending, stooping, climbing over obstacles, balancing, grasping, crouching, sitting.

- Must hear well enough to converse on telephone, must see well enough to read reports

- Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing in English well enough to communicate effectively with supervisors and peers

Working Conditions

Normal manufacturing environment. Production line, indoors, noisy, wet/slippery floors at times. Potential exposure to equipment movement, chemical/solvent/ingredient hazards if proper safety procedures are not followed.
