Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:The Document Control Lead is responsible for product documentation throughout the product lifecycle. They ensure that Bills of Materials (BOMs) are complete and accurate in all document control systems within the company. They compile product documentation into usable Request for Quote packages to support purchasing and contract manufacturing activity. They work with Engineering, QA, Manufacturing Engineering, and other cross-functional teams to understand the future revision plans for each product and guide them through the RFC and ECO processes, while updating all relevant PLM and ERP systems to stay synchronized and current.Realityworks, Inc. is located out of Eau Claire, WI. Full-time remote work or a hybrid work arrangement are available for the selected candidate.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Manages Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system and environment; oversees and distributes user licenses; trains new staff on using PLM softwareSupports and manages Engineering Change Order process, including implementing documentation updates, gathering approvals, and communicating changes to internal and external stakeholders.Supports and manages Requests for Change process, including receiving requests, prioritizing them with management, monitoring progress, and updating documentation through the Engineering Change Order process as appropriate.Develops and manages documentation for Company products, both in development and during production; documentation requirements include but are not limited to customer requirements, technical specifications, and controlled information such as BOMs (Bill of Materials), assembly procedures, and technical manualsEnsures that technical documentation is accurate, complete, and meets editorial standards for spelling, grammar, paragraph structure, document formatting, and defining technical requirements in written formatCoordinates amongst design engineers to gather/edit system requirements, product design statements, BOMs, specifications, procedures, and other technical requirements in order to effectively capture, control, and communicate product revisions.Performs other additional duties as assigned or requiredKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslySuperior written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detailAbility to interpret mechanical drawingsExcellent grammatical, clerical, and proofreading skillsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's Degree in Technical Writing, English, Communication, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience3+ years of relevant work experienceExperience producing and managing both written and verbal technical communication for cross-functional teamsProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Experience working in an engineering environmentExperience working with PLM systemsExperience working with ERP systemsExperience creating and managing bills of materialsExperience managing manufacturing documents (procedures, specs, etc)WORK ENVIRONMENT:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
