Position Summary & ResponsibilitiesThe Operations Line Leader has
the overall responsibility for leading production, and material
control employees to ensure employee safety, product quality and
asset performance while delivering on time production plan (cases)
at budget (cost). This is accomplished by developing employees to
close competency gaps and leading people from on-boarding process
to training, coaching, and corrective action. Focus on results and
deliver what is expected consistently every day. Model the way for
others by practicing what is preached to create and maintain a
workplace culture that engages and motivates employees at all
--- Understand all aspects of Safety-Quality-Cost-NCE-TPM and the
--- Perform in a variety of capacities related to employment
decisions throughout the employment life cycle (ie. hiring,
termination, labor relations issues as appropriate)
--- Provide effective coaching and counsel to teams
--- People Management - Enforce all rules and policies consistently
and hold people accountable every day. Manages vacation, shift
shortages, grievance, and check and enforce personnel hygiene &
safety PPE-are adhered to daily.
--- Leads daily shift change meetings, weekly staff meetings, DOR,
SHO and other meetings as necessary. Ensure there is adequate
distribution of skills to enable production/shipping plan to be
--- Ensures competency development within the team by understanding
their capabilities relative to factory needs and leveraging both
internal and external competency experts to close any gaps.
--- Communicates with maintenance planner concerning issues with
daily and weekly maintenance plans, preventative maintenance
tasks/frequencies to optimize effort and results.
--- Communicates with Operations Manager on essential items such as
nonconformity, production issues, union contractual issues,
planning schedules, etc.
--- Communicates with support (i.e., QA Lab, Engineering, TAG,
Supply Chain, and Finance) and customer departments to ensure
processing can meet or exceed their expected planned
--- Respond effectively and work cross-functionally within the
plant particularly with Payroll, Accounting, Safety, Human
Resources and MIS.
--- Reviews manufacturing processing records to ensure CFR, FDA
Regulations and Nestl-- compliance requirements are followed.
--- Investigate production deviations and issue reports.
--- Ensure Quality objectives are met including adherence to GMPS
and product quality checks.
--- Ensure SOPS-SSOPS- Work instructions are updated and available
for all positions
--- Proactively drive initiatives to achieve business results
--- Effectively implement, improve and reinforce the company's
environmental health and safety programs and product safety
--- Ensure work area /line is tour ready at all times.
--- Keep labor within budget and is effectively utilized every
--- Know the people on your line.
--- Communicate potential /relevant issues or unresolved matters in
a timely manner.
--- Conduct root cause analysis using established problem-solving

Throughout all of these responsibilities, maintains a focus on
QualificationsEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Required:
- Bachelors' Degree in Operations Management, Business
Administration, Engineering, or related field. Will consider 5+
years of manufacturing experience in lieu of a degree.
- Proven track record of building good working relationships with
personnel and partner with functional resources, preferably in a
food manufacturing environmentPreferred:
- Management experience in a union environment
- Experience with spray drying and/or food processing
- Experience with TPM or Continuous Improvement
- Engaged leadership
- Ability to maintain a safe working environment through proper
housekeeping and safety practices.
- Excellent communication skills both Verbal and Written
- Excellent interpersonal skills, organizational and Leadership
- Confidence in own capacity and judgement. Must be willing to
face challenging situations.
- Developed ability to build personal relationships on trust,
mutual respect and open communication.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities at one time through
highly developed organizational skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting through root
cause problem solving.
- High energy and excellent follow up.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- SAP-AMM experience is preferred
- IP Knowledge
