Job Description:

Join Lutheran Social Services of Wisconsin and Upper Michigan (LSS) as a Mental Health Counselor and be part of a compassionate team dedicated to promoting health, healing, and hope within the community. This role involves providing specialized counseling services to individuals and groups to promote optimum mental and emotional health. You may work with individuals dealing with issues such as anxiety, depression, addiction, and the effects of trauma, leveraging a variety of therapeutic methods tailored to the clients needs. Assess clients' mental condition based on review of client information, clinical interviews, observation, tests, and collaboration with other staff members. Develop and implement treatment plans based on clinical experience and knowledge. Collaborate with other health care providers, social workers, and relevant community resources to set up patient support systems. Document and maintain client records with strict confidentiality and adherence to applicable laws and regulations. Facilitate group or individual therapy sessions as appropriate for the treatment plan. Regularly evaluate clients' progress and modify treatment plans as necessary. Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to handle high levels of stress Knowledgeable in therapeutic techniques and diagnosing mental health disorders Crisis intervention skills Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401k Licensed as a Professional Counselor (LPC) or equivalent Any specialization in mental health counseling is considered a plus, such as Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CCMHC)
